MARBLE MAMMOTH

 

Swedish labyrinth psych rockers Marble Mammoth have just released a series of new singles this year. Marble Mammoth is Tobias (Vocals/Guitar), Marcus (Drums), Emil (Bass) and Andy (Organ/Percussions). This Stockholm quartet easily wanders between various genres and styles.

“Lonely” blends psychedelic dreamy pop with a rock foundation and a indie punch. Tobias’ vocals are crisp while the guitars, drums and bass float in and out of atmospheric fuzz. In the final minute Marble Mammoth transfixes the listener in a hypnotic loop of sound.

“The Light Pt 1” and “The Light Pt 2” dropped earlier this year. Strangely upbeat “The Lights” rock out with frequent chord changes and tempos. Hints of Zeppelin, The Doors and Zappa abound. Somehow Marble Mammoth makes all of the transformations weave perfectly into two wondrously creative songs.

Another 2019 single is “Crack Baby Panic Attack”. Deeper and darker than the other releases “Crack Baby Panic Attack” has you cringing. Tobias cries “I dreamt you were junkie” and “my body is a battleground“. Tobias’ voice over the metallic instrumentation hits its intended mark.

Marble Mammoth is a behemoth about to explode. The texture of their music is a magical tapestry of eclectic sound.
