Migrant Motel is on a roll. The alternative rock duo have released several outstanding singles this past year and recently performed on the BMI stage at Lollapalooza. Definitely playing to the upswing. Migrant Motel is comprised of Peruvian- American Dave Stewart Jr. ((Vocals/Guitar/Bass) and Mexican native Chava Illizaliturri (Drums). The two met while they were both studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. The group was very active on the East Coast but eventually migrated to L.A. where they played highly anticipated shows in such esteemed venues as the Viper Room and the Whiskey. Furthermore, they have garnished a large fanbase in Latin America and Mexico.

Migrant Motel‘s unique sound is generated by meshing modern rock riffs with cotemporary productions techniques and adding a dash of soulful charisma. Their songs carry a certain masterful flair that captures the listener immediately. Migrant Motel‘s songwriting is adventurous and enterprising. Their songs have a sweeping quality with dynamic arrangements. Also, the two handle their respective instruments beautifully. Stewart’s percussions are up front and articulate while Chava’s vocals are full of vibrant incandescence  In addition, Illizaliturri’s instrumentation is plainly exemplary. His accents and fills are exceptional.

Migrant Motel dropped two bodacious singles earlier in the year. “Bad Machine” is a gallant indie tune that showcases a daring deep toned synth with resolute vocals. The musical nuances are through the roof. The band creates a flood of sonic textures. Similar to Glass Animals, Migrant Motel blast you with an aural shotgun. Muñequita Rota (Broken Doll) displays another facet of the band. The single features two version: one in Spanish and the other English. The song is a little darker with an prodigious bass line and forceful percussions. They weave spicy fills throughout the tune to heighten the intensity. What’s more,, Muñequita Rota has this cool Prince R&B vibe.

Migrant Motel’s newest single is the electrifying “Sweat”. This is one devastating funky composition with a divine bass line and an indestructible groove. If this track don’t have you moving from the first note, then you pretty much dead. Stewart’s vocals are lush and savagely dramatic. The timbre of his voice is smooth and sexy. Not only that but “Sweat” has a monstrously sensual rhythm.

Speaking about the inspiration for the new track, Stewart explains: “This song is honestly just about feeling bad ass; everything from the groove, the lyrics, the production- it’s all focused on making the listener feel like they’re on top of the world. We wanted to give a feeling of being “untouchable”.

Migrant Motel is ready to break out. It won’t be long!
