HE WAS A GOD – LIVE – AT CHERRY STREET STATION

June 11 was a beautiful evening and a good time to head out to Cherry Street Station in Wallingford, CT for a night of rock and metal. I walked into Cherry Street and it was hot as heck but that didn’t stop any of us from enjoying the music.

Arcadia Forsaken had already taken the stage when I arrived. A new metal/thrash band, they were fabulous. Next up was one of my favorite hard rock bands in Ct., Zero One Zero. The band consists of Rob “Boots” Zawiska on vocals, James Ferrentino on guitar, Mark Ahles on drums, and Marc Russell on bass. The energy they put out is heavy and fun. Rob is a powerhouse on vocals and really works the stage.

Zero One Zero started out as an idea between Rob and James who at the time were sick of the state of rock music. 2019 was when they debuted their first album entitled Think Like Machine, and in no time they released their next album in 2020 Full On. I really look forward to buying their next album. I could never get sick of these guys. They are an amazing talent and really humble, down to earth guys.

Next on the stage was Shadow Kingdom who I have been following for a few years now and have had the pleasure of working with. The crowd was waiting in front of the stage and the energy in the room was high, and WOW this is the best Shadow Kingdom performance I have seen yet! The music was incredible. The passion they let loose was extraordinary. Shadow Kingdom is comprised of Robert Slater on vocals, Gregory Alfonso on guitar, Dave Yaz on guitar, and Mike Cap on bass.

Shadow Kingdom began their journey in 2014 in Milford, Ct. The band’s first EP, The Reflection, was released in 2018 and it astounded their fans. Their music ranges from speed metal, melodic thrash, and power metal. Their new album was released last year on NO DUST RECORDS and distributed in North America by Animated Insanity Records and is called Eyes Of Pain. I have to say I love this album and my favorite song is “Reject Hell”. I see big things for these guys in the future. The crowd went wild while they played and it was their best show by far.

Last on the stage was He Was A God from New Haven, Ct and wow! This was my second time seeing them and they have me in awe. The drive and power of this band is phenomenal. He Was A God is  comprised of Benjamin Curns on vocals, Chris Densky on drums, Daniel Perrone on bass , Tony Pellino on guitar/backing vocals, and Ray Zvovushe on lead guitar. I cant say enough about this band, the way they worked the stage and kept the crowd engaged was amazing.

What a great night at Cherry Street Station, its not often you catch a show where all the bands are amazing! Make sure you get out to see these bands if you haven’t before.
