SKID ROW LIVE @ THE WOLF DEN IN MOHEGAN SUN

It’s a beautiful fall day in Connecticut and a great day to go see Skid Row at The Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino. Definitely excited to experience them with their new singer. The band also dropped their first album in several years which I had a listen to on the way to see them and it’s wonderful!.

Skid Row is an American rock band who was formed in 1986 in Toms River, NJ. Their current lineup
consists of Rachel Bolan on bass, Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill on guitars, Rob Hammersmith on drums and
Erik Gronwall on vocals. The band has started a new era with their new singer, Erik Gronwall, formerly of
the band H.E.A.T. Gronwall replaces ZP Theart, who fronted Skid Row since 2016. The new album came
out Friday night and it blew me away. Their new singer just nails it with his amazing vocal range and
his high level of energy on stage.

Skid Row achieved commercial success in the late 1980’s and early 1990s with their first two albums
Skid Row (1989) and Slave to the Grind (1991) certified multi-platinum. The latter of which reached
number one on The Billboard 200. Those two albums definitely produced some of their most popular
hits, both in the USA and abroad. These included “18 and Life” and “I Remember You” which peaked
in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Skid Row also charting other singles such as “Youth Gone Wild”,“Monkey Business”, “Slave to the Grind”, “Wasted Time”, and “In a Darkened Room”. The band’s third album Subhuman Race (1995) was critically acclaimed as well but failed to repeat the success of its predecessors. Those three albums had Sebastian Bach as a frontman. The band had sold 20 million albums worldwide by the end of 1996.

On October 14, 2022 , their new album The Gang’s All Here was released. I think this album will become
another big hit for Skid Row. The album came out the night before the show at Mohegan Sun.
Skid Row came onstage to the anticipation of the crowd playing their classic “Slave to the Grind”. Erik
came onstage smiling and full of energy. He completely nailed it. He is definitely, by far, the best
addition as a vocalist to the band so far. Erik worked the crowd and really engaged with the audience.
He fist bumped fans and in one case leaned down and kissed a woman’s hand. He definitely has a way
with his fans.

Halfway through the set they played their new song “The Gang’s All Here” and it was a hit with the
crowd. Finally for the encore they played their classic “I Remember You”. They then performed another new song, “Time Bomb” which was another hit with the crowd. And lastly they played “Youth Gone Wild”. This was definitely one of the best Skid Row shows I have been to in years. I believe Skid Row will go far with their new album, The Gang’s All Here. It will be exciting to see where they head with their new singer Erik Gronwall.
