WHEN RIVERS MEET – CHRISTMAS IS HERE – SINGLE REVIEW

The last time the unbelievable UK blues duo When Rivers Meet graced our pages was on Jan of 2021. At that time we reviewed their amazing album, We Fly Free. Previous to that our UK correspondent, Anne Estella, enriched our pages with an absorbing interview featuring Grace and Aaron Bond who comprise When Rivers Meet. Now the dynamic husband and wife team have released an impressive two sided holiday single. The A side consists of “Christmas Is Here” while the B side is “It’s The Time Of The Year”

“Christmas Is Here” is a swampy blues masterpiece that’s a perfect fit for the season. As usual, Grace’s vocals are superb. The crispness of her voice is vibrant with a strong smoky vibe. This lady can sing. Aaron’s backing vocals add an emotive spicy flavor to the composition. The songwriting is also shimmering. “Christmas Is Here” flairs with sublime arrangements and uplifting Yuletide lyrics.

All the presents will need wrapping in time

See what Santa brings

“It’s The Time Of Year” is a heartfelt ballad that highlights Grace and Aaron’s beautiful singing. Their voices melt into a rich cascading sonic waterfall that easily captures the listener’s soul. The song is full of spectacular textures and lush orchestration. When Rivers Meet shapes a Christmas standard perfect for snuggling together on the couch sipping chocolate and watching the snow fall,

The accompanying video for “Christmas Is Here” is just as charming. It intermixes shots of the two on the beach and in a Christmas shop with them singing into a mike with Christmas lights twinkling. The Bonds masterfully engage the viewer into their world of pure magic. The only thing you are capable of is smiling at their charismatic antics. When Rivers Meet always know how to bewitch their fanbase. Their spellbinding magnetism is infectious.

These two Christmas tunes will become major hits and will be considered treasures for years to come. Move over Mariah, here come When Rivers Meet!
