FIT FOR A KING – NORTHLANE – LIVE – AT THE PALLADIUM

By Donna Marie Eriquezzo

It was a snowy, dreary Saturday in March, but that’s ok because I am headed to the Palladium in Worcester, Mass to see Fit For A King. We arrived fairly early to meet up with friends and already a very long line was wrapping around the block. There is anticipation and excitement in the air, this is going to be one helluva show!

The Palladium was packed and the crowd waited in anticipation. Not to disappoint, first up on the stage was Kingdom Of Giants from Northern California. These guys hit the stage hard and heavy. The band consists of Julian Perez on keyboards, Max Bremer on guitar, Levi Norris on bass, Dana Willax on vocals, Red Martin on guitar, and Truman Berlin on drums. These guys wowed the audience!

Next up on the stage was a band called Alpha Wolf who hailed all the way from Australia. The band had the crowd going nuts and crowd surfing away. Alpha Wolf consists of vocalist Lochie Keogh, bassist/backing vocals John Arnold, Sabian Lynch on rhythm guitar, Scottie Simpson on lead guitar, and Mitch Fogarty on drums. Theses guys were amazing, heavy and melodic, and they had the crowd amped up!

What a killer lineup tonight, just wow! Next up onstage was Northlane who are also from Australia. The band members are guitarists Joe Deiley and Josh smith, drummer Nic Pettersen and vocalist Marcus Bridge. Northlane have released six studio albums. They have also won the best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal album category for a third time at the ARIA music awards of 2019 for their album Alien.

Finally the band we are waiting for hits the stage with lights blaring and fog blazing. These guys are a powerhouse! Fit For A King came out with “The Hell We Create”, followed by “End” and “Falling Through The Sky”.

Fit For A King is an American metalcore band from Tyler, Texas and they began their journey in 2007. The band is guitarists Bobby Lynge and Daniel Gailey, vocalist Ryan Kirby , bass player Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary, and drummer Trey Celaya . Fit For A King is also a Christian metal band. Interestingly their name comes from a reading in the gospel of Luke that said “fit for the kingdom of God”

FFAK released two independent EP’s entitled Fit For A King in 2008 and Awaken The Vesper in 2009. Another independent album was released in 2011 called Descendants. Afterwards, the band signed to Solid State Records and have released 6 additional studio albums. This tour is in support of the release of their newest album, The Hell We Create which dropped on Oct. 28, 2022 The band played 13 songs which ended with their hit “God Of Fire”.

What a way to close out an amazing show and a great night of heavy talent.
