ALTAR EGO & POUR 4 LIVE @ THE JAMESON PUB
What do you do when its 96 degrees outside in May? Go to the Altar Ego CD Release party at The Jameson Pub in Watertown, CT,… that is what I did and I’m so glad I went. Altar Ego came onstage with a vengeance, the whole crowd was upfront dancing and singing with the band. Altar Ego has a huge following and I can see why. The band is tight, have a phenomenal stage presence, and they know how to work the crowd and interact with their fans. The band really works the stage and I was truly impressed.
Altar Ego has been around since 2014 and they were recently signed to NeuroTronix Records and will
go far. It’s well-deserved as the passion they display really pulls the crowd in. I got an autographed
copy of their new CD, Lit N Late, and I absolutely love it! Altar Ego is comprised of Jay Bach on vocals,
Bobbi Hill on guitar, Rob Croucier on bass, and Art Kurpaska on drums.
Altar Ego came on stage playing “Love Never Dies” off their new CD. Then around the seventh song, the amazingly talented Chris McCarvill of Dokken and Maxx Explosion got up and played “Round and Round” with the band. As always, he killed it on bass. Such a pleasant surprise for the audience. Altar Ego closed the set with their new song “Who’s Your Daddy”, which is also on the back of the Altar Ego shirt I received from Jay for myself along with one for my son, Zach. The encore song was “Get the F*** Out” by Skid Row. Amazing set!!
Pour 4 came on after Altar Ego and they were incredible as well! Excellent stage presence and vocals.
Let’s hope these guys write some originals as they are amazing musicians. Pour 4 consists of Tony Mei on drums, Jeff Kamen on bass, Scott Weaver on guitar, and Kyle Big Daddy on vocals. The guys have been together for 3-years but Covid held them back from playing out. Now you really need to get out and see these guys as they were amazing and the makeup on the singer was fabulous. They opened with “Ladies and Gents” and went on to an eclectic set of songs such as “18 & Life” and “Night Train”. My favorite was “Break Stuff” which was their encore.
Thank you to The Jameson Pub, Altar Ego ,Pour 4 and Chris McCarvill for an excellent evening!!
