Photos by Lea Caffrey

Michael Cansdale, CEO and founder of BIGMAC Productions delivered again!! If you were one of the lucky ones to be out in this highly anticipated event at Bleachers in Bristol, Ct. last night, well then, you are still floating on cloud nine. Post pandemic, the cloud has lifted and what a sight it was to behold as these performers took the stage. Rock and roll is here to stay as evidenced by last night’s crowd. The atmosphere and energy rivaled sentiments of the 80’s and halcyon days of pre-covid19, despite the 200 person capped event.

Beyond Purple, coming off their successful 2nd show at Daryl’s House, are no strangers to fame and talent. This prominent and increasingly popular band houses a powerful punch with international touring musicians and songwriters. Lead singer, Mike Gill is a tour-de-force on vocals and his range is enviable. Jimi Bell is a monster on lead guitar and a local legend. Mr. BJ  Zampa always gives the audience a peek at his exceptional and talented drumming abilities. Mark Zito tickles the Korg Kronos ivories with precision and skill. And finally, Brian Camilleri provides a solid foundation and versatility on bass. The band arms some of Ct.’s most prolific artists and many of you recognize these bad boys from Dokken, Autograph, House Of Lords and Livesay.

Beyond Purple plays tribute to the likes of Deep Purple, Dio, Whitesnake, Rainbow and more….and have no difficulties in allowing the audience to turn back the clock and make the event the experience that rock enthusiasts will never forget. Those who have seen Beyond Purple in the past keep coming back for more as their chemistry and talent is out of this world. Their diverse set provoked unadulterated rock and roll vibes all night long. In addition, Mike, BJ, Jimi, Mark and Brian deliver time after time the power to give audiences an exceptional opportunity to enjoy their favorite acts in a modern day live setting.

How fitting it was to have the Kings close out the night. King Kueis no stranger to talent and notoriety. The 4 piece band showcases some of Ct.’s most beloved artists who have long standing musical careers that span over 30+ years! This high energy band is known for their cult classics, but also have an array of relatable original music. Debuting two new songs last night was a real treat for the audience along with favorites like “Moving In Stereo” and their closer,  “We’re an American Band”. They are a spectacularly fun band to watch.

King Kuel got the crowd roaring and fist pumping with their earthy and powerful sound. Front man Ray Wheaton gave a solid performance with his thunderous voice. He is the quintessential performer and knows how to keep his audience engaged. William Yager commanded the lead guitar, delivered a steadfast performance and spotlighted some mad skills on backing vocals. All the while, CJ Kennedy on bass and Fran Mynahan on drums locked-in to create an explosive percussion backdrop for the band and set a blazing foundation. Long after the night ended, the crowd was still buzzing with anticipation for the next shows with these dynamic powerhouses, Beyond Purple and King Kuel. You have to check them out!!

All of this greatness was accompanied by amazing sound by Kevin Parkinson and lights by Katrina Devona. Also be on the look out for some professional concert photography from Lea Caffrey and Gail Corrow as they captured last night’s insane energy through their expert lens.
