CASTING SHADOWS & DAN JACKSON’S BIRTHDAY BASH
On June 24, 2022 I was invited to Dan Jackson’s birthday bash and Dead by Wednesday’s album release party with Casting Shadows/ Kings And Liars/ Inverter at Prost Bier and Music Hall in Jewett City, Ct.
What an amazing lineup and killer sold out show. All of the bands were great. The night started with Inverter from Boston, Ma. who consists of Deek Diedricksen on vocals, Bill Bracken on guitar, Jimmy Evangelista on bass, and Jeff Lawn on drums . This was my first time seeing them and wow they really got the crowd moving despite the heat. They were energetic and full of passion. I would love to see them again.
Next up was Kings And Liars, a hard rock/metal/post hardcore band from Connecticut featuring Charlie Bellmore, Chris Beaudette, Nick Bellmore. These guys are a three piece powerhouse. Again my first time seeing these guys as well and I was seriously impressed with their music. The night just kept getting better and better. The place is crowded and everyone is really into the music .
The band we’ve been waiting for, Dead by Wednesday, comes on stage. They are heavy and powerful. Their music really moves me and their new music is better than ever. The band consists of Steve Alvarez on vocals, Dave Sharpe on guitar, Opus on drums and Mike Modeste on bass.
Their new album, Capitol Conspiracy is awesome. I’ve listened to it over and over and absolutely love it. If you haven’t gotten your copy, be sure to get it, you won’t be sorry !!! These guys are amazing live. I could see them every weekend and never get bored, not to mention the guys are great people. Thank you for a killer night!! Be sure to catch these guys this summer at one of their shows.
Last up was Casting Shadows from Connecticut featuring the birthday boy Dan Jackson on bass & vox. The remainder of the group consists of Matthew Barnes on lead vocals, Chris Ornberg on guitar, Adam Bice on guitar, and Nick Gallagher on drums . “Never leave yourself behind to the controlling mind. You’ve got to free your soul and rise above it all. Just let go” is a super quote from Casting Shadows. They say their music shows the duality of human nature and I agree . These guys were tight, melodic and energetic. I was super impressed and so happy I attended this event .
Thanks to all four bands for a heavy night of fun. Make sure you get out to see all these bands and support them by buying albums and merchandise! I have to say Ct and Ma. have a great metal scene.
