GETTERS – ROW / TIDAL WAVE

 

Houston rockers, Getters, have released an upbeat single off their upcoming stellar EP, We Are Getters. “Row” is a melodic piece of alt rock that’s brazenly refreshing. Getters is comprised of Micah Miller (Drums), Jerry Nettles (Guitars, Keys) and Christopher Goodwin (Vocals). The three members found fulfillment through a creative outlet and a desire to share genuine moments with those who would connect with them.

The members of Getters share nearly two decades of friendship and artistic collaboration. Speaking about the new EP, Nettles says “We aim to connect with people the best way we know how. Until we are able to perform in a live setting, our hopes is that anyone can listen and relate to a lyric or experience a feeling we felt when writing these songs“.

Getters previously released the masterful single, “Tidal Wave”, earlier this year. The song is built on sublime arrangements and bold musicianship. The groove is mesmerizing with divine vocals and a dreamy laid back aura. The spacey guitars are harmonically rich with an airy lightness. The lofty keys are intoxicating. Miller described the track as “a poetic temper tantrum. Society has always romanticized love and are on a non-stop search to find its magic. Tidal Wave brings that search to life“.

Getters‘ new single, “Row” harbors memorable hooks and smooth rhythms. Goodwin’s vocals generates a cool optimistic buoyancy. Nettles’ swirling guitars fills the musical space beautifully gaining a heartfelt sincerity. Meanwhile, Miller’s percussions delivers an animated back beat. The entire tune spawns a positive and affirmative outlook. Something that is really needed to brighten our spirits during our pandemic blues.

“Row” also boasts an imaginative and science fiction inspired video directed by Wade Concienne. The video channels an eerie blend of Tarantino and David Lynch.

If the Getters first two singles are indicative of the propulsive qualities of We Are Getters, the EP will be a huge success.
