HALF•ALIVE

Half•Alive is a three piece indie pop band from Long Beach, California who have released a second single “Arrow” from their upcoming debut album 7 (RCA Records). Half•Alive is Josh Taylor (Vocals), Brett Kramer (Drums) and J. Tyler Johnson (Bass)

The band released a well received E.P. 3 in 2017. The three tune E.P., featuring the song “Aawake At Night”, caught the indie scene’s attention. In 2018 Half•Alive dropped “Still Feel”. The charted single cemented the band’s place in the music scene. The video with its creative choreography went viral. In fact all of their videos are well made and inventive. “Still Feel” with its deep bottom and light chorus is not only catchy but places the band smack in the middle of a cool hybrid genre; funk and R&B with a smooth indie beat. The song works on multiple levels.

Half•Alive’s new single “Arrow” released this year focuses on Josh Taylor’s astute observations on life’s strange quirks. It seems something always interferes with one’s destiny. Taylor croons “Life begins to happen when I plan something else. Trying to be somebody but all I got was somebody else”. According to Taylor the universe is constantly impeding one’s well laid plans. Like “Still Feel”,  “Arrow” possesses an uptempo beat that ingrains itself into the listeners dancing psyche. If these two singles are any indication of Half•Alive’s new record,  7 is going to be glorious.
