LAW & CHAOS / THEM EVILS / PROTOJE
LAW & CHAOS
We recently reviewed several of Law & Chaos‘ singles in our Short Bites section. Well, the prolific duo is at it again. Written by Nick Andrea (Vocals/Trumpet) and TJ Sullivan (Guitar) and produced by Craig T. Fall of Eldora Grande Studios, “Whiskey Whispers” explores the nightmarish existence of an alcoholic after failing to escape the drink that relentlessly whispers his name.
“Whiskey Whispers” is a smooth composition with a strong vivacious vibe. Even though the lyrics dig into the dark recesses of an addictive personality, the rhythm is silky and reminiscent of the cool laid back Jazz of the 50’s and 60’s. Andrea’s voice is uniquely sensual and has an audacious edge. His trumpet playing is richly emotive with a sensational lush tone. Sullivan’s guitar solo sparkles with melodic intensity.
Law & Chaos continues to release imaginative material with vibrant fusion characteristics. Looking forward to their forthcoming debut album.

THEM EVILS
Them Evils is a hard hitting trio based out of Huntington Beach, Ca. The band consists of Jordan Griffin (Guitar/Vocals), Jake Massanari (Bass) and David Delaney (Drums). Them Evils just dropped their newest dynamic single, “Pour out Another One”. The new tune follows their riff laden endeavors, “Where Ya Gonna Crash Tonight?” and “Coattails” released in 2020.
“Pour out Another One” is a monstrous anthemic song that contains enormous licks and brazen vocals. On the single, Them Evils combine the aggressive metal of Sabbath with the fearless harmonics of Queen. Griffin’s voice is ruthless and his guitar mesmerizing. Massanari’s bass line is addictive and Delaney’s drums are brutally forceful. The single was produced by Jim Kaufman (The Black Moods, Helmet).
Speaking about the single, Massanari says: “we wanted to write a song that embodied the attitude of just saying fuck it, let’s throw a few back and party our way through this“.
When live shows return, this is the band to catch. Them Evils‘ music is profoundly propulsive, pure TNT.

PROTOJE
Protoje is back with an awesome new song. “Righteous” follows his recent release “Switch It Up” feat. Koffee which AMP also reviewed in January. As we mentioned then, Protoje has delivered “reggae magic” over and over again. He has collaborated with countless major artists with colossal results. The man is just a reggae superstar.
“Righteous” is an impressive ditty that contains shiny keys and spectacular vocals. Protoje’s voice is spicy and ever so fluid. The bass is booming and the percussions are memorable. The groove laden single has supersized heart and a hypnotic beat.
Protoje has crafted another inspirational song that surrounds the listener with a beautifully textured soundscape.
