By Donna Marie Eriquezzo
Its February 25, 2025 and The Webster in Hartford, Ct is alive with the sound of hard-hitting rock and roll. The main act for the night is none other than the iconic band Lynch Mob taking up the main stage. With two killer opening bands, Lone Wolf James and Paralandra starting out the evening it was definitely a night to remember.
The first band of the night was Lone Wolf James, hailing from Massachusetts. These guys are a hard rock band with a bluesy funk edge, and strong vocals with melodic harmonies. They are with Fierce Horse Records and have a refreshing mix of blues and classic rock. They played original songs and did a Donna Summers cover of “Hot stuff” that was catchy and fun. The band consists of Gary James (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Jeff Holmes (Bass), Tim Evans (Lead Guitar) and Sherman Wilson (Drums) . They had soulful vocals as well as powerful guitar riffs and pulled the audience right in. Be sure to catch these guys if you haven’t already.
Next on the stage was Paralandra from Springfield, Missouri who had a dynamic music style and they brought a unique energy to the stage. The band is Cassandra Carson (Lead Vocals/Guitar), her dad Paul Carson (Guitar), Sawyer Rikard (Bass) and Dakota Watson (Drums). This was the first time I have seen Paralandra and I was very impressed. They kicked off their set with “Dirty Love” and immediately drew in the audience with a catchy melody and powerful lyrics. The band seamlessly transitioned into “Repeat Offender” and “The Only One” showcasing their versatility and musicianship.
Throughout their performance , lead vocalist Cassandra Carson commanded the stage with her powerful and soulful vocals and Paul’s guitar playing left the audience in awe. The rhythm section provided a solid foundation for the band’s sound, keeping the energy high and the audience engaged. Paralandra had a very powerful stage presence and they interacted with the audience and made the room feel like they were part of the performance. Cassandra had high energy and was full of enthusiasm and worked the stage as well as interacting with the crowd.
During her last song she got up on a high speaker cabinet and jumped down while singing and playing her guitar and it was one heck of a high jump. Cassandra also released her first single, written with George Lynch, called “Stranger” taken from her debut album Cassandra’s Crossing which arrives on Oct. 25 via Frontiers Music Srl. Wow what a hit this is going to be with Lynch’s trademark riffage and Cassandra’s outstanding voice. Be sure to catch this song and be sure to see Paralandra, I promise they are so worth seeing. These guys had a stellar performance and one heck of a stage presence, I really enjoyed seeing them and hope they come back soon!
What a night so far and now Lynch Mob hits the stage with “Don’t Close Your Eyes” and the crowd is going wild. Lynch Mob was formed in 1989 and has been a staple in the world of rock music for over 3 decades. With their hard-hitting sound and powerful lyrics, they have gathered a following of dedicated fans who have been eagerly waiting for their return to the stage. From their heavy-hitting rock anthems to their soulful ballads, Lynch Mob captivated the venue with their dynamic range and impressive musicianship. The highlight of the night was their performance of “Wicked Sensation,” which had the entire crowd singing along and showing their love for the band. Following that was the instrumental song “Mr. Scary” with Cassandra Carson of Paralandra joining George Lynch on stage and wow were they incredible together. This has always been my favorite song by George Lynch and seeing him and Cassandra both play it was nothing short of amazing. Lynch Mob’s final song of the evening was another all time favorite, “Into The Fire” .
