NORTHEASTERN SOUND COMPANY

Talking with George Wruck, owner of Northeastern Sound Company, the stories flow easily. Northeastern Sound Company is a well equipped recording studio nestled in a quiet industrial park in Wallingford, Ct. According to George the studio has seen a revival or two. It was conceived over twenty years ago on a whim and just for the fact that he could. Wruck’s a high school teacher who has been doing live sound for a long time. I enjoyed listening to all his escapades about working sound throughout the state and varied kinds of venues. As he put it “I learned how to do it right the hard way”.

The studio’s primary room is blessed with excellent acoustics with attached amp and vocal rooms. The equipment and layout have been totally revamped to maximize the recording experience. The second floor mixing room has been upgraded to insure the up most clarity. A small lounge sits outside the studio for band members to hang while recording is in session.

The newest addition to the Northeastern Sound Company is Matt Ryan. Matt is the impetus for Northeastern’s newest resurrection. He is an audio engineering student at the New York State University at Oneonta. He also plays in the local band, Just a Pipe Dream. On the side he trades and sells equipment and gear. As you can see Matt’s a hustler and his enthusiasm and determination is the main reason George has reanimated the studio.

Matt has high hopes. The duo wants to start slow. Matt is still in school but this labor of love runs deep. Northeastern has already booked several projects these past few months with more to come. As Matt said “This is the perfect studio for a young band to lay down tracks and produce an album or E.P. without breaking the bank”.

After my few hours touring the studio and talking with George and Matt I feel confident that Northeastern Sound Company will be a Ct. fixture for many years to come.
