ROYAL CANOE

Canada’s Royal Canoe is like a well shaken martini. The group mixes alt, pop, funk and hip hop into a smooth blend of danceable grooves. Think Alt-J meets Glass Animals with a flavorful Royal Canoe twist.

Royal Canoe is Matt Peters (Vocals), Bucky Driedger (Guitar/Vocals), Matt Schellenberg (Keyboards/Vocals), Brendan Berg (Bass/Vocals), Derek Allard (Drums) and Michael Jordan (Electronic Drums).

Royal Canoe have just released their latest album, Waver, to major critical acclaim. Their first single “Rayz” is a laid back feel good summer blockbuster. Peters’ vocals are smooth and inviting. The synths are cool and breezy. “Rayz” has you cruising with the top down with no real destination and no worries. In fact all of Waver is a wonderful experiment of sound and imagination.

Royal Canoe has also dropped a stand alone single, “Fussin'” featuring Begonia. Begonia has to be one of the most exciting new voices to recently emerge. Her single “The Light” is an exquisite piece of beauty and it was co-produced by Schellenberg and Peters of Royal Canoe.

“Fussin'” is truly a funky delight. It beckons the listener to hit the dance floor. Peters and Begonia’s voices blend with stylish ecstasy. The beat has the listener’s fingers snapping, head bopping and feet shuffling. Berg’s dynamic bass surrounds and electrifies the listener’s sonic aura.

Royal Canoe with “Rayz”, and “Fussin'” has created a steady stream of sleek and impressive singles, not to mention the sheer magnificence of Waver.
