SAINT MOTEL
Saint Motel is moving and are taking us along for the ride. This four piece L.A. band’s second full release, saintmotelvision (Elektra Records), at first forces us to smile, then tap our feet, and then jump up and dance. This fun filled and quirky album is the perfect diversion from today’s hum drum world. The whole record highlights tunes infectious from the first lick. The initial track “Move” sets the tone. Upbeat and driving “Move” demands you sway and bop you head. The chorus,Gotta get up-Move, pumps the heart and the body gives in. “Getaway” and “Destroyer” continues the ascension. A/J Jackson’s voice is an excellent match for the perky “Sweet Talk” and “For Elise”. “You Can Be You” and “Happy Accidents” are playful and wry. My personal favorite remains “Born Again”, a rousing gospel tinged track that truly epitomizes Saint Motel. Saint Motel are baptizing us. Saintmotelvision transports us to happy land and we love it. Enjoy this great sophomore effort.
