SEPSISS – ARTIST SHOWCASE AND INTERVIEW
Sepsiss is a two-time award-winning female-fronted hard rock/ metal band from New Hampshire. High on energy and emotionally driven lyrics, this band has acquired an impressive fan following on social media platforms as well as at their live shows. I was able to experience a live performance/ Halloween party at Fete Musical Hall in Providence, Rhode Island where Sepsiss electrified the stage along with Beyond Gravity, SiXteenX20 and The Lonely Ones.
When Sepsiss pounced on the stage, they captured the crowd’s full attention, providing a visual feast for everyone in attendance, most notably for photographer Eric Johnson of AOK Photography, who paused from his voracious picture taking only long enough to change the batteries on his camera light.
Melissa Wolfe emulates her moniker with her lupine stare and stance, while her soprano vocals call out tales of emotional pain, heartbreak and ultimate survival. William Savante lends a metal growl, a tenor/baritone background, as well as some rapping while wielding his guitar like a weapon of destruction. Drummer Joe shows his kit little “mercy” as he pounds them hard and fast.
One might call Sepsiss‘ sound “eclectic” as it seems to feature elements of several genres, such as metal, pop, rap, punk, and alternative. The crowd was appreciative and enthusiastic as they danced, jumped, grooved and cheered through the set which included “Push”, “You Already Know”, “The Swarm”, “Fair to Say”, “Eyes of Empathy”, “Blacklight Invasion”, and “Force You to Lay Down”. Most of their songs are available on their Almost 11 album.

KATE: Tell me about your musical backgrounds. Where are you from, when did you first start playing instruments, and who are your musical influences?
SEPSISS: Sepsiss first formed in Manchester, NH back in the year 2010 with founders Melissa Wolfe and William Savant. Melissa grew up in a household of musicians. Her father is a guitar player and was in a rock band of his own when she was just a child. She watched his band and always had a fondness for music. As she got older, she started experimenting with all kinds of instruments ranging from guitar to drums, and even the recorder.
Eventually, she discovered that singing was truly her passion. In her teens, she decided to venture off and create a band of her own. Some of her influences include bands such as Evanescence, Halestorm, Avenged Sevenfold, Michael Jackson, Alesana, Axxis, Arch Enemy, Asking Alexandria, Dio, Ozzy, etc.
Cam Loud’s influences include The Beatles, Iron Maiden, Architects UK. William Savant lists Alan Watt, Quincy Jones and Napoleon Hill as his inspirations. William Savant, Timberland and Tech N!ne are Mr. Goodbarz’s heroes. Johnny Impact’s list includes Marilyn Manson, Motionless in White and Motley Crue while Joe Mercy walks to the beat of Thomas Lang, Benny Greb, Thomas Pridgen and Emmanuelle Capletta.]
KATE: Great range of musical taste! I’d say your songs showcase most of those influences (maybe all but I haven’t heard all of them, haha), most especially Evanescence, Halestorm and Asking Alexandria.
If you weren’t musicians, what career path would you have taken?
MELISSA WOLFE: If I didn’t do music, I’d probably wind up doing some of my other passions such as streaming (twitch), modeling, or even art.
KATE: I can definitely see you doing any or all of those, particularly modeling. Photographer Eric Johnson was KATE: in heaven taking your photos! The camera loves Sepsiss and most especially Melissa.
If a Sepsiss album were a pharmaceutical prescription, what would it cure/ treat?
MELISSA: If a Sepsiss album were a pharmaceutical prescription, it would be my hope that Sepsiss could cure or treat depression / anxiety. Some of our lyrics can be uplifting or enlightening if you read through it.
KATE: “To Write Hate On His Arms” off of Almost 11: “I know that we can make it” would be one example.
If Sepsiss released a set of action figures, what two accessories would each figure include?
MELISSA: William Savant and Cam Loud’s action figures would have to include duo guitars. William’s would also include a headset microphone and Cam would have a set of tools since he is also a welder. Joe Mercy would have to include a drum kit as well as a pair of drumsticks. Johnny Impact would have his bass guitar and a taser. Mr. Goodbarz would include a keyboard and a computer. My action figure would have to include a wolf tail and a microphone.
KATE: A tazer! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the 12 items or less line at the grocery store, behind the apathetic shoppers with like 40 items and coupons, and I have wished that I had a tazer!
Congratulations on Sepsiss’ success! What is the best way for fans to get their hands on your releases?
