TIFFANY/TRASHING VIOLET/VICKI F LIVE @ WALL STREET

By Jody Wilk

I entered the beautiful Wall Street Theater in downtown Norwalk, with excitement, to see the Tiffany’s Shadows tour with this show being billed as “The Ladies who Rock”. Headlining the night was 80’s pop rock icon Tiffany with Vicki F and Trashing Violet opening the night. This was the fourth stop on the tour and it runs through mid May.

Trashing Violet is a local band comprised of Marisa B. on vocals and guitar, Anna V. on lead guitar, Doug E. on Bass, and Nick D. on drums. Marisa takes charge of the stage and commands the fans attention with her 70’s punk like vocals and raw guitar riffs. Running through a ten-song set of songs such as “Sex and Guitars”, “Good Girl”(their latest release) and “Take It Off”. They ended on a high note with the crowd singing along to a cover of The Runaways classic, “Cherry Bomb”. Trashing Violet has a great Punk Rock/80’s Rock sound with a great amount of energy on stage that kept the fans engaged through the entire set.

Next up was Vicki F. Vicki, an indie artist who tonight was playing solo with full band tracks on her laptop. Vicki sings and plays acoustic guitar and brings her punk rock roots and blends it with an acoustic guitar to mix in a folk-alternative sound. Her most recent release is a cover of “Downtown”, originally recorded by Ethan Isaac. Vicki has been performing music since the late seventies. She also has a new single and video out called “There Is A God”.

Tiffany is on tour supporting her recent album Shadows. Shadows has a more hard rock vibe than Tiffany’s earlier albums. Playing seven songs off of this album along with all the hits kept the fans on their feet. On drums for this tour is Scot Coogan who is always so animated in his performance. He also plays with Stephen Pearcy of Ratt and has played with Ace Frehley. L.A. Guns bassist, Johnny Martin was looking and sounding slick while holding down the rhythm section. During the last song of the regular set, Tiffany sat on the side of the stage to sing “All This Time” along with the fans helping out. Tiffany’s voice still sounds great. She ended the night with “Saw Him Standing There”, “Could’ve Been”, and everybody’s favorite, “I Think We’re Alone Now”.

Tiffany has stood the test of time and has taken on a hard rock sound with her new album, Shadows. You can catch her on tour through mid-May.
