VOLTAGEHAWK – STRAIGHT RAZOR

Voltagehawk is a Nashville quartet that detonates thunderous raw rock with venomous intensity. Even though their music is rowdy and rambunctious, the band cultivates a cool melodic ambiance. Voltagehawk is comprised of Dan Fenton (Vocals/Guitar), Chase Arocha (Guitar/Vocals), Tyler Boone (Bass/Vocals) and Jarrad James (Drums). The group dropped an album, Voltagehawk (2018), which featured the electrifying songs, “Modern Gasoline” and “Almighty Dollar”.

The band recently released an atomic single entitled ” Straight Razor” The song features grinding guitar riffs and a hammering bass line. Fenton’s vocals are spectacularly coarse and imposing. James’ percussions hits you like an imploding nuclear barrage. The sweeping guitars are edgy and in your face. The rhythm is driving and vigorously impelling. The whole tune reminds one of the broad power of MC5. Voltagehawk is definitely “Kicking out the Jams”.

The single was recorded at Eclectic Thunder Studios with Geoff Piller and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering (Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Dr. John). Speaking about the new song Dan Fenton says: “Imperfection is part of being human. We often hurt people we love and don’t even know it. When we become self aware and mindful, suddenly we can see “gunpowder power” in our loved ones eyes. Sometimes we meet our match with someone who loves us so much that they kick our ass to save our life. That’s the story of “Straight Razor”, my girl“.

“Straight Razor” will be part of their upcoming full length 13 song space epic, Electric Thunder. The sci-fi odyssey will follow a young heroine’s journey through space and time as she comes to realize she is the only translator to the most important message Earth has ever received.

Voltagehawk‘s sound is adventurous and daring. They break all the rules yet their grungy chords are highly addictive. We can’t wait for the release of Electric Thunder! Their heroine, Nav, is in for an exciting and spectacular ride.
