WEDNESDAY 13/GEMINI SYNDROME/INFECTED RAIN – DINGBATZ
By Anthony Frisketti
Wednesday 13, Gemini Syndrome, Infected Rain and Black Satellite play ambitious sets at Dingbatz in New Jersey on 11/19
First to take the stage was New York City’s Black Satellite. With a mix of industrial and metal sounds, and such a powerful and melodic female voice the crowd couldn’t help but take notice. Black Satellite is comprised of the auditious Larissa Vale (Vocals) and Kyle Hawkin (Guitar). Fan favorites included their new single “Broken” and “Void”.
Up next, Infected Rain. Powerful front woman Lena Scissorhands’ voice cut through the crowd as her stage presence mesmerized the the audience, which had an equal mix of men and women. Infected Rain’s addition members are Vadim Ojog (Guitar), Alice Lane (Bass) and Eugene Voluta (Drums) The Moldovan band opened their set with two songs from their 2022 album Ecdysis. Infected Rain kept the heat up all through their 6 song set. Their newest release “Never To Return” was well received. See related below for AMP’s interview with Lena.
Third on the bill, was Gemini Syndrome who was bathed in dark lights their entire set. The darkness almost making guitarist, and Coal Chamber member, Miguel “Meegs” Rascón almost unrecognizable. The band played some of their hot tracks during their 8 song performance. Gemini Syndrome opened with “Stardust” and “Primordial” and followed with their new single “Conquistador”. They closed with “Remember We Die”. Besides Rascón, the group is made up of Aaron Nordstrom (Lead Vocals), Brian Steele Medina (Drums) and Alessandro Paveri (Bass).
Now for the main event, Wednesday 13 performing a full Murderdolls set, making this anything but a “normal” night with Wednesday 13. Well, there is no normal when it comes to the Duke of Spook! It was amazing to hear these classics from 2002’s Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls as well as 2012’s Women and Children Last live again. Wednesday 13‘s latest full length is Horrifier which was released in 2022 via Napalm Records. Wednesday 13′s 18 song regular set included “Chapel of Blood” and “Nowhere”. The encore was Billy Idol’s “White Wedding”, “I Love To Say Fuck” and a rousing rendition of “Dead in Hollywood”.
Such an incredible evening of music, and a fitting tribute to fallen heros Joey Jordison and Ben Graves.
