The 2026 Black Bear Music Fest returns to the Harwinton Fairgrounds in Harwinton, Connecticut, from August 14–16 for its eighth annual celebration of Americana, folk, roots, and country-rock music. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, family-friendly activities, and scenic camping options, the festival has become a favorite summer destination for music fans throughout New England. Beyond the performances, attendees can enjoy food trucks, artisan vendors, workshops, and community events that create a welcoming weekend experience.
This year’s Black Bear lineup is led by legendary country-rock pioneers Pure Prairie League, joined by festival favorites The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root with Dirk Miller, Adam Ezra Group, and acclaimed singer-songwriter Vance Gilbert. The festival also highlights an impressive mix of emerging and established Americana artists, giving audiences a chance to discover new favorites alongside well-known performers.
Additional artists scheduled to perform at Black Bear include Joe Crookston, Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand, and Palmyra, representing styles ranging from contemporary folk and bluegrass to indie Americana. Organizers continue to add performers and activities throughout the summer, making the weekend a diverse showcase of acoustic music, storytelling, and musicianship. The multi-stage format allows fans to experience a wide variety of acts throughout each day.

Camping remains one of the festival’s signature attractions, allowing guests to stay on-site and enjoy music from morning through evening without leaving the grounds. Families will find interactive workshops, children’s activities, local craft vendors, and regional food trucks alongside the performances, reinforcing the event’s reputation as more than just a concert. The festival’s welcoming community atmosphere has helped it grow into one of Connecticut’s premier Americana music gatherings.
