Loz Campbell is no stranger to the pages of AMP. Her sound truly captures our soul. Campbell has carved out a space in the UK music scene that is distinctive and singular. Her music distributes gritty guitar riffs, dynamic vocals and unapologetic songwriting. Loz Campbell combines hard hitting rock with modern blues accents in order to create a sound that is truly transformative. Her guitar playing is central to her identity and her raspy vocal delivery gives her music a totally recognizable slant.
Loz Campbell has continued to evolve both as an artist and songwriter. She easily maneuvers through musical genres. For Loz, hard rock, pop, grunge and blues all come into play. Her versatility is a major plus. Her guitar mastery has constantly gotten better while her songwriting has matured greatly. But Loz always has an edge. Loz just released two new singles off her upcoming sophomore album. In “Monster”, Campbell exposes a darker and heavier side to her music. The track incorporates electronic beats alongside her signature massive guitar work. The whole feel is more sinister and mysterious. Her vocals are full of fire and the entire song flares with avid ferocity. Lyrically, “Monster” centers on being restrained and fighting back unpleasant experiences giving the track a tense and combative quality.
“Pieces Of My Heart” captures another aspect of Loz’s musical psyche. The song fits in Campbell‘s style of straight ahead anthemic rock. Full of lively hooks, charismatic choruses and impressive vocals, “Pieces Of My Heart” ignites with superb passion and verve. The arrangement has zeal and the orchestration conveys an illuminating spark. It spotlights her excellent rock aesthetic while suggesting a more emotional connection.
Together, “Monster” and “Pieces Of My Heart” point to an artist that continues to expand instead of repeating an established formula. Loz Campbell continues to grow into an indisputable major talent. With both songs arriving ahead of her forthcoming album, Loz Campbell is flourishing into an artist that is willing to take chances and allowing her sound to broaden. She continues to amaze.
