ALLT – AN ARTIST SPOTLIGHT AND SINGLES REVIEW

Swedish progressive metalcore upstarts, Allt, have just released three dynamic singles from their upcoming sophomore album Ataraxia via Century Media Records. The band has built a reputation of delivering crushing riffs blended with atmospheric density and all-devouring vocals. Their sound feels both massive in scope and personal in nature. Allt‘s cinematic orchestration offers propulsive soundscapes that destroy the emotional norm. Allt‘s music incorporates themes of isolation, inner conflict and determined resilience.
The band is comprised of Robin Malmgren {Lead Vocals), Olle Nordström {Guitar}, Viktor Florman (Guitar) and Adam Björk (Drums). The group was formed in 2020 in Karlskoga, Sweden. Their debut full length, From The New World, explored societal collapse and survival during a post-apocalyptical storyline.
Allt comments: “With ‘Ataraxia’, we wanted to write from the place we actually live in, not an ideal version of it. The album is about the search for peace and stillness, and all the things that can pull you away from it. It’s not trying to offer answers or present some inspirational message. It’s more about what it felt like to live through these experiences, or watch people close to us go through them.”
“Avalon” is the band’s newest single, On “Avalon”, Allt merges aural beauty with sonic carnage in order to convey an expansive narrative. The track moves from pleasing passages to waves of syncopated guitars and monstrous percussions. Malmgren’s vocals easily shift from guttural overtures to melodic inflections. The instrumentation flows with an abstract determination. Allt surrenders a track that showcases both refinement and chaos simultaneously.
“Snowblind” spotlights the band’s strength of dispensing tension and space. The song opens with an immersive musical invitation and leads to a crushing rhythmic attack. The ethereal aura establishes a peaceful tranquility that is intruded upon by moments of pure tumult. In addition, the group balances progressive complexity with outstanding songwriting. “Snowbird” toggles between exquisite ambiance and explosive gravity.
“Omertà” is a total different animal. The vocals are harsh and brutal. The music is more combative and urgent. The track radiates with contrast and a devastating cadence. The song fosters moments of uneasiness and paranoia. There is a constant sense of innate diverse intensity. “Omertà” spotlights Allt‘s ability to devise music that features memorable melodies and combustive grooves.
Taking together, “Avalon”, “Snowblind” and “Omertà” showcases Allt‘s ever evolving sound. If these singles are any indication, Ataraxia will catapult the band to the forefront of today’s metalcore universe.
