Shinedown brought their Dance, Kid, Dance – Act II Tour to the Mohegan Sun Arena with Coheed And Cambria and From Ashes To New for support.
The evening was full of excitement as Shinedown packed the Mohegan Sun Arena with devoted and staunch fans. Opening the night was From Ashes to New from Elizabethtown, PA. The five piece nu metal powerhouse played a blistering seven song set that totally energized the audience. Danny Case (Lead Vocals) and Matt Brandyberry’s (Rap Vocals/Dirty Vocals/Keys/Synths} vocals kept the crowd always in suspense. The remaining members consisted of Lance Dowdle {Lead Guitar/Bass}, Mat Madiro (Drums} and Jimmy Bennett {Rhythm Guitar/Bass).
From Ashes to New opened with a dynamic “New Disease” and immediately the crowd became engaged. It was followed by “Nightmare” and “Heartache”. The room began to rock. “Drag Me” and “Barely Breathing” kept the energy high. “Die For You” and an intense rendition of “Panic” closed out their set and the house appreciated every moment.
Coheed And Cambria were up next. The progressive metal unit filled the venue with a ferocity of aural density. Coheed And Cambia is made up of Claudio Sanchez (Lead Vocals/Guitar}, Travis Stever (Guitar), Josh Eppard (Drums) and Zach Cooper (Bass). Their ten song set delivered fans favorites and eclectic selections.
Starting off with “A Favor House Atlantic”, Coheed And Cambria attacked the very souls of their followers. “Searching For Tomorrow” and “Ten Speed {Of God’s Blood and Burial]” furthered the fervor. All through their performance, the band drew the house in with their excellent musicianship. “Gravemakers & Gunslingers” and “The Liars Club” enthralled everyone. “Welcome Home” ended their night with a flourish.
Shinedown has spent over two decades cementing their status as arena-rock royalty, and their July 2026 stop at the Mohegan Sun Arena proved they are still finding new ways to surprise their audience. Balancing explosive energy with individual fan interaction, the Jacksonville four piece delivered a 21 song performance that somehow felt both massive in scale and deeply personal.
Pyrotechnics were sharp and loud (and HOT!), and the lighting design dynamically shifted between the aggressive red-and-black tones of their heavier tracks and warmer, stripped-back hues for the middle lower-key set. Transitioning from the main stage to an intimate middle B-stage allowed the band to reset the room’s energy; they don’t need lasers and fire to captivate an arena.
Brent Smith’s vocals were flawless from the jump into “Safe and Sound” and the nostalgia of “Fly From the Inside.” The early set inclusion of “Diamond Eyes” and “Enemies” kept the floor moving, driven by the thunderous rhythm section of bassist Eric Bass and drummer Barry Kerch.
Zach Myers took a turn in the spotlight during the late set cover of 3 Doors Down – “Kryptonite,” handling lead vocals for the first verse and chorus. This ledbbeautifully into their rendition of “Simple Man.” The night concluded with “Sound of Madness” and “Second Chance,” leaving the audience on an absolute high.
The emotional peak of the night occurred at the intimate middle stage. The band’s acoustic rendition of “Through the Ghost” was a hauntingly beautiful standout. However, the highlight of this segment was “Asking for It.” Brent Smith revealed the track was added specifically due to a 66 day fan DM campaign—a testament to Shinedown‘s connection and responsiveness to their community.
Shinedown‘s 2026 performance at Mohegan Sun Arena proved why they remain at the top of the hard rock echelon. They don’t just play for their fans; they play with them. By blending deep cuts, massive radio hits, and genuine fan integration, Shinedown delivered a performance that felt like more than a standard tour stop.
